Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM)

All changes to programs and courses at Georgia Southern University must be initiated and approved through the CIM application. Please refer to the links below in order to access the CIM forms for courses and programs:

Submitting a New Course or Program Proposal

  1. Navigate to CIM for courses (Course Inventory Management) or programs (Program Management)
    • Note: Google Chrome is the recommended browser for CIM
  2. Enter your MyGS UserID and password
  3. Click the green “Propose New Course” or “Propose New Program” button
  4. Enter appropriate course or program data in the “New Record” screen; fields outlined in red are required
  5. Click the small blue “?” help bubbles next to field titles to display helpful information specific to the form fields
  6. Click “Save Changes for Later” to save your proposal and finish it later
  7. Click “SUBMIT” to submit the proposal and start workflow

 

Editing an Existing Course or Program

  1. Navigate to CIM for courses (Course Inventory Management) or programs (Program Management)
    • Note: Google Chrome is the recommended browser for CIM
  2. Enter your MyGS UserID and password
  3. For Courses: Enter the course’s subject code and number in the text box, then click the green “Search” button. (You may also search by title keyword: add an asterisk (*) or percent sign (%) before and after keyword(s) and click “Search”)
  4. For Programs: Enter the program’s program code OR search by title keyword: add an asertisk (*) or percent sign (%) before and after keyword(s) and click “Search” (Example: *Psychology* or %Psychology%)
  5. Click once on any search result to open a course or program detail window
  6. Click the green “Edit Course” or “Edit Program” button to the right of the detail to open an editing window; fields outlined in red are required.
  7. Click the small blue “?” help bubbles next to field titles to display helpful information specific to the form fields
  8. Click “Save Changes for Later” to save your proposal and finish it later
  9. Click “SUBMIT” to submit the proposal and start workflow

 

Inactivating a Course or Program

  1. Navigate to CIM for courses (Course Inventory Management) or programs (Program Management)
    • Note: Google Chrome is the recommended browser for CIM
  2. Enter your MyGS UserID and password
  3. Click the red “Inactive” button for courses or “Inactive Program” button for programs at the top left of the detail to open an inactivation window; fields outlined in red are required
  4. Click the small blue “?” help bubbles next to field titles to display helpful information specific to the form fields
  5. Click “SUBMIT” to submit the proposal and start workflow

 

Submitting a Selected Topics Announcement

  1. Navigate to the Miscellaneous Request Management Form
    • Note: Google Chrome is the recommended browser for CIM
  2. Enter your MyGS UserID and password
  3. Click the green “Propose New Miscellaneous” button at the top right to open a Miscellaneous Request form; fields outlined in red are required
  4. Click “Save Changes for Later” to save your proposal and finish it later
  5. Click “SUBMIT” to submit the proposal and start workflow
