Georgia Southern prides itself on recruiting and retaining committed and talented staff. Since we view staff in all arenas of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SAEM) as key contacts for support, training and development efforts are dominant in annual planning efforts.
We will continue to encourage the professional and personal growth of our staff for the benefit of the individual, the students, the Division, and the University as a whole. Each year, supervisors and staff members will collaboratively and intentionally plan development activities based on a combination for short-term skill enhancements for current job responsibilities and long-term career goals.
We will provide opportunities for new staff to be oriented to all departments within the Division and learn the value and importance of each area. We will seek to provide cross training where appropriate to increase the efficiency of our operations during peak times and emergencies and to illuminate the job responsibilities and work loads of each other.
Primarily through the efforts of the Professional Development Council, we will continue to provide programs that promote social interactions at the Division level and emphasize a culture of caring and joy among the staff.
