Gainful Employment

Gold Coins

Final regulations published in the Federal Register on October 29, 2010, under 34 CFR 668.6(b), require institutions to report certain information about students who enrolled in Title IV eligible educational programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (GE programs).

Those regulations also provide that institutions must disclose to prospective students certain information about the institution’s GE Programs.  The Department of Education has created a template for institutions to use when disclosing gainful employment information.  Click on the program of study listed below to access the gainful employment disclosures.

In order for a program to be considered part of gainful employment, the program has to meet the following:

  • has to be financial aid eligible
  • programs of at least one academic year in length
  • the program has to lead to a certificate
