Filing Taxes for 2020

As an international student in the U.S., it’s important that you understand the tax requirements of your F-1 visa. You’re legally required to file a tax return if you worked in the U.S. or received a scholarship, stipend, grant, or allowance. Even if you didn’t work or receive income in the U.S., you’re still legally obliged to file Form 8843 with the IRS.

Georgia Southern University has arranged FREE access to Sprintax Tax Preparation for you. Sprintax will guide you through the tax preparation process, arrange the necessary documents, and check if you’re due a tax refund.

Check your Georgia Southern email for instructions, links, and the code to use Sprintax for free! If you have not received the email, please contact international@georgiasouthern.edu.
