International Travel Update: COVID Test within One Day of Departure

Effective today, December 6, all incoming international travelers will need to show proof of a negative covid test taken within one day of (in other words, the day before) departure for the United States. This replaces the previous requirement of requiring a negative covid test within 72 hours of departure. This new rule applies to all travelers regardless of citizenship on all international flights inbound to the U.S., and will be in effect until further notice. Additionally, all non-U.S. citizens traveling to the United States from abroad must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination prior to boarding an airplane. Proof of vaccination should be a paper or digital record issued by an official source and should include the traveler’s name and date of birth, as well as the vaccine product and date(s) of administration for all doses the traveler received.
