Completing the Common Data Set financial aid Section offers yet another challenge for IR officers. Often times this section is handed off from Financial Aid offices without IR professionals having enough knowledge to complete the survey or to help verify accuracy. This session will review how data are (or could be) compiled in collaboration with Financial Aid Professionals. Learn the questions you can ask……to help assure your institution is knowledgeable about the intricacies of these data. Issues will include: 1) counting type of aid as need-based if a student has need balance versus pre-determined codes indicating need-based, 2) inclusion of waivers, 3) out-of-state aid versus waivers, 4) use of offered aid vs accepted aid.
