Student Veterans Association

Starting in 2012, the Student Veterans Association was founded as a chapter of The Student Veterans of America to help advocate for the militarily affiliated students of Georgia Southern University. The Association’s goal was to reach out to the Veterans here on campus, and ensure that there was a voice reaching the faculty when dealing with Veteran issues.

In 2015, under the leadership of former President, John Kitchens, the SVA redefined itself as not only a way for Veterans to connect, but also as a way to allow Veterans to continue to serve the community. As a member of Team Eagle, The Student Veterans Association leads the way in providing volunteer opportunities for Veterans within Bulloch County, and supports the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Current Leadership in the organization consists of

President: Erik Burkett

Vice President: Erik Burkett

Vice President: Jeremy Hill

Treasurer: Sydney Young

Secretary: Doug Stearley

Faculty Adviser:  Jahmal Rainey
